How to apply a Mint Temporary Tattoo

  1. Cleanse and dry skin completely
  2. Gently remove clear plastic film from the tattoo. (Be especially mindful with large tattoos)
  3. Cut away excess white paper around tattoo image (mostly for larger sized tattoos where conforming to curves is a consideration)
  4. Place tattoo face down on skin (tattoo is a little tacky and should sit in place)
  5. Using a very wet Mint sponge or small cloth, wet the back of the paper. The paper will soften and conform to the skin. Continue to press paper firmly with a wet sponge for up to 30 seconds.
  6. To check that the design has transferred onto the skin, carefully lift a corner. If not, apply more water to the paper for a longer period
  7. Carefully remove paper once transfer is complete. If there are any bubbles or lifted edges, gently press down immediately with wet sponge
  8. Let image dry completely
  9. Show off your sweet tattoo

How to apply a Mint Long Lasting Tattoo

Important!  The Long Lasting tattoo transfer is CLEAR/TRANSPARENT and only looks slightly shiny once the paper is removed. You must not touch the tattoo until it dries as it can be smeared. The design will slowly emerge into a very dark blue design.

** Follow above Steps 1 through 6 **

  1. Let dry completely for a few minutes and avoid contact with water for at least a few hours.
  2. Within several hours the design will begin to appear and then continue to gain vibrancy over the next 24-48 hours.

Tricks and troubleshooting tips:

  • If the area is hairy, consider shaving prior to application. The tattoo will have a difficult time bonding to hair. Light, thin hair shouldn’t be an issue.
  • For large sleeve tattoos, we find starting with a wet sponge at the top and working down is best. As the paper gets wet it easily conforms to the area making the transfer easy.
  • If the paper/tattoo isn’t pressed down or left on long enough, it won’t bond to its maximum ability, therefore shortening the life of the tattoo.
  • Some areas are better suited for a longer tattoo life. Consider the bicep, inner arm, thigh, calf, shin or ankle. Hand and finger tattoos are super cool but have a short life. Avoid elbows, knees and similar type areas that tend to crease.
  • Activities that cause sweating can potentially shorten tattoo life.
  • Tight clothing contact or rubbing can shorten tattoo life.
  • Do not apply to sensitive skin or do a patch test if any allergy issues are suspected.
  • Do not scrub or exfoliate tattoo in the shower unless removal is desired.
  • To extend the life of the long lasting tattoos, apply water based moisturizers to the area.
